License FAQ
What does Royalty Free Music mean?
IS ROYALTY FREE MUSIC ACTUALLY FREE?
It is “Free of Royalty”, not cost free. Royalty-free refers to the right to use copyright material or intellectual property without the need to pay royalties or license fees for each use, per each copy or volume sold or some time period of use or sales.
You simply need to purchase a one-time license for one end product or project and you can use the music for as long as desired. One license is allowed for usage only in one product or project for a lifetime.
LICENSING FOR YOUTUBE, TV, COMMERCIALS etc.
To use this music in your YouTube video (I do not use Content-ID!), Commercial or TV Show (or even Movie), you must first purchase a appropriate license. During the purchase process, you will be presented with the different license types that will help you to easily find the suitable license type for your project.
DO I NEED PERFORMING RIGHTS FROM A PERFORMING RIGHTS ORGANIZATION (P.R.O.)?
Assuming that the music is broadcast, royalties are paid on the music, though it is the broadcaster (YouTube as the online "broadcaster", TV networks, radio stations) who pays them via annual fees to the performing rights societies, not the producer who uses the music in their production.
Royalty-free P.R.O.-Music by ABSONIQ is still Royalty-free!
ROYALTY FREE MUSIC IS NOT COPYRIGHT FREE MUSIC
The copyrights of royalty free music tracks belong to the original composer and all rights are reserved.
